Waterville Public Library

Volunteer @ Your Library!

"Volunteering is the ultimate exercise in democracy. You vote in elections once a year, but when you volunteer, you vote every day about the kind of community you want to live in." ~ Unknown

Do you have a heart for people and life-long learning?

WE WANT YOU!

Did you know that over 12,000 people from over 44 communities visit the library each month?  The Waterville Public Library is a busy place!

As a volunteer, you can make a difference in your own life, in the lives of others, and in the library's future.

The reasons for volunteering @ your Library are just as people themselves.  Some come to help because they:

  • Have an interest in the Library
  • Are eager to help support and enhance library services
  • Need to complete community service hours for school
  • Are interested in a career in library work
  • Enjoy the satisfaction of helping others
  • Like learning new skills
  • Want to give back their community

There are many other personal reasons for wanting to volunteer @ your Library.

If you understand and believe in the mission of your public library then come and share your time and talent with the Waterville Public Library.  As our Library continues to grow so does the need for help with sorting and shelving books, developing new progamming, assisting with special programs, helping patrons learn computer skills, keeping books in the proper place so they can easily be found, and a hundred other tasks.  You could be just the right person to help make a difference just by sharing a little of the biggest asset you possess, your time!
